# Referral Program

Earn a share of everything your referrals spend, for three years. They get free credit to start.

## Overview

Every Edge account gets a referral code. When someone signs up through it, two things happen:
they receive **$10 of free prepaid credit** on their first top-up, and you start
earning **revenue share on everything they spend** — 15% in year one, 10% in
year two, 5% in year three. Earnings are credited straight to your prepaid balance as your
referrals spend, with no minimum payout and nothing to configure.

## Your Referral Code

Your referral code is found in **Account → Referral Program**. It is auto-generated as `REF-XXXXXXXX`, but you can customise it to any alphanumeric string.

## What Your Referrals Get

Referred customers get **$10 of free prepaid credit**. The credit is added to their
balance automatically once they've verified their email and made their first top-up of $10 or more —
effectively doubling their first top-up.

## What You Earn

You earn a percentage of your referrals' **actual spend** — usage billed from
their balance and any subscription payments — for three years from their first spend:

| Period | Your share |
| Year 1 | 15% |
| Year 2 | 10% |
| Year 3 | 5% |

Earnings are **credited to your prepaid balance automatically** as your referrals
spend (batched into roughly $1 increments to keep your balance history readable). There is no
minimum payout, no payout schedule, and no configuration — the money is simply there to spend
on anything on Edge, or to sit alongside your top-ups.

Refer a customer spending $500 a month and you earn about $75 a month in year one — $900 over
the year, $1,500 over the full three years. A handful of real referrals covers most bills.

## How It Works

- Share your referral link with potential customers
- They sign up through it and get $10 of credit on their first top-up of $10 or more
- Their first spend activates your revenue share and starts the 3-year clock
- As they spend, your share is credited to your prepaid balance automatically
- Track referrals, earnings, and history in **Account → Referral Program**

## Rules

To keep the program fair for everyone:

- **Self-referral is blocked** — you cannot refer your own accounts
- One referrer per customer — the code used at signup wins
- Revenue share applies to real spend only: top-ups themselves, refunds, and promotional credits don't count until they're spent
- Referrals made to game the system (fake accounts, same-person signups) are voided
- Customers referred under the legacy subscription programme continue under the terms that applied when those referrals were made
