First up, we hit a new all time high in terms of traffic in the network this week. It's great to be pushing the numbers and really being able to stress test the mainnet!
This did throw up an issue with the DNS service in the Stargate in Australia, which pushed some services offline for a short period in that region. The issue raised its head there because Australia really is at the edge of the Edge - the furtherest point topologically in the network.
The issue is that after reboot the Stargate has some ghost services that can't be removed by the Stargate itself. The current fix is to just wipe all services on relaunch, which works fine as a temporary fix.
We've made huge strides this week on the editorial interfaces for our new SaaS proposition for what were our web services. This is a major update to Publish, which I expect to be signing off in the next couple of weeks, and sharing with you as well.
The team also made some more progress on the document versioning interfaces, which we are now pausing in favour of rolling out the redesign. These will be picked up again when we get to the next iteration of the interface user experience and design.
We've also produced a series of white papers in support of the coming SaaS launch, and have pushed forward plans for the PPA Workflow Workshops in September. They've also laid the groundwork for our presence at the PPA Independent Publishers conference in November.
The new API access keys feature discussed last week is almost complete. It's now in the testing phase and should be rolled out as a beta sometime next week.
CDN v3.6.2 was released with a fix for an issue reported by Ecohustler. This has also been packaged and pushed to the mainnet.

The network team have been largely focused on the CLI for self onboarding, as well making changes to the Edge site and API in order to allow users to authenticate and register a device.
They have also been working on the Gateway bidirectional RPC stream ahead of the first release of a distributed DAG in support of the storage mechanism in the network. This is new and very cool tech, which we'll be writing much more about in the coming weeks and months.
In addition, an APT repository for network CLI in preparation for self onboarding has been setup and is in testing.
