Is DNS really free?
Yes — free for everyone with a verified email, no card required. Up to 50 zones with unlimited records on a global anycast network. It's the same infrastructure paying customers use, not a limited tier.
What happens if a zone exceeds 1M queries in a month?
The limit is soft: we'll warn you, but we never block resolution or drop your queries. If you're consistently over, we'll talk about a volume arrangement — your domains stay up regardless.
How are add-ons billed?
Managed domains and zone backups are billed hourly from the same prepaid balance as Edge compute — a $1/month add-on costs about $0.0014 per hour while active, and you can drop it at any time.
Do I need to transfer my domain to Edge?
No. Keep your registrar and simply point your nameservers at Edge. If you want a domain without a registrar at all, test.network and ed.ge subdomains are available as managed add-ons.
What about very high query volumes?
Enterprise volume pay-as-you-go covers DNS at scale with volume query pricing, a 99.99% SLA, and an account manager. Talk to us if you're serving hundreds of millions of queries.
