Compute
Pricing
No plans and no instance types to decode. Pick exactly the vCPU, RAM, and disk you need, pay per resource by the hour from a prepaid balance, and stop any time.
The rate card
Three resources make up a VM. Everything else is a flat add-on or free.
| Resource | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| vCPU Dedicated virtual CPU core | $0.004 per hour | ≈ $2.92/month per core, billed only while running |
| RAM Memory, per GiB | $0.00256 per GiB-hour | ≈ $1.87/month per GiB, billed only while running |
| Disk NVMe SSD storage | $0.074 per GiB-month | Billed for allocated storage, running or stopped |
| Additional IPv4 Extra public address | $2.00 per month, each | First public IP included |
| Snapshots & backups Point-in-time copies | $0.05 per GiB-month | Billed for stored snapshot size |
| Bandwidth All traffic in and out | Free | Zero egress fees, every region |
What it actually costs
Monthly cost = vCPU + RAM billed per hour (730 hours/month) plus disk. Here are three common builds.
| Build | vCPU | RAM | NVMe Disk | Monthly cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter Small sites & side projects | 1 | 2 GiB | 40 GB | $9.62 /mo |
| Standard Apps & databases | 2 | 4 GiB | 80 GB | $19.24 /mo |
| Performance Production workloads | 4 | 8 GiB | 160 GB | $38.47 /mo |
Prices include bandwidth — there are no egress fees on any build, in any region. VMs bill by the hour, so a Standard build run for a weekend costs about $1.27, not $19.24.
No surprise bills. By design.
Compute is prepaid: you load a balance and usage is deducted hourly. It's structurally impossible to wake up to a runaway bill.
Prepaid balance
Top up when it suits you, or enable auto top-up. A one-time $5 starter credit is available once your card is on file.
Balance out, VMs pause
At zero balance, running VMs stop — nothing is deleted. Top up and the VMs we stopped start again automatically.
Exact price up front
The configurator shows the precise hourly and monthly cost of your build before you deploy. No egress math, no fine print.
Pricing FAQ
Everything you need to know about how compute billing works.
How does billing work?
Usage is metered and deducted hourly from a prepaid balance. You load credit, run what you need, and stop any time. There is no subscription to commit to and nothing to cancel — a one-time $5 starter credit is available once your card is on file.
What happens when my balance runs out?
Running VMs are stopped — never deleted. Your data, configuration, and IPs stay in place, and VMs we stopped are started again automatically when you top up. Enable auto top-up to avoid interruptions.
Do stopped VMs cost anything?
A stopped VM stops accruing vCPU and RAM charges immediately. Disk keeps billing at $0.074/GiB-month while the VM exists, because the storage is still allocated to you.
Are there egress fees?
No. Bandwidth in and out is included at every size, in every region. The price you configure is the price you pay.
Can I see the cost before I deploy?
Yes — the configurator on the pricing page and in the control panel shows the exact hourly and monthly total for your vCPU, RAM, and disk selection before you create anything.
What about high-volume workloads?
Enterprise volume pay-as-you-go starts at $499/month with volume discounts, a 99.99% SLA, and an account manager. Talk to us if you're running at scale.
