This week was shorter than usual as we had a bank holiday.
This week saw a significant update to the Edge Account system. If you haven’t seen it yet, allow us to introduce: Edge Server metrics!
Metrics show load information for CPUs, memory usage, disk usage and network traffic, allowing you to better understand server usage and manage resources.
Account API v1.14.0 and Account v1.16.0 were deployed on Wednesday introducing this feature. These are experimental as we work to iron out any kinks, so if you notice any inconsistencies in your server metrics, please let us know in 👤│account-support on Discord.
This week we’ve also been working on in-house tooling for the account system. While this isn’t something you’ll see, it helps us better manage the account system, which is essential as we scale.
Speaking of scaling, as capacity is added, it’s used up. Not a bad problem to have! We have more capacity on the way which we expected to be ready today. It looks like it will be Monday or Tuesday now, so as soon as that is ready, we’ll add it to the UK zone and let you know.
We’re also making progress on the second zone and putting required infrastructure in place to support that and will continue to update you as we make progress.
A major NFT artist launched a new site on Edge… 🔥 We’ll be talking about this in the coming weeks.
There’s a new governance proposal live. The team want your input on changing the staking requirement for Host nodes, reducing it significantly to make the process of contributing to the network open to more people. You can access the proposal here:
