Hi everyone 👋
It’s a double bank holiday weekend here, so two shorter than usual weeks. But we’re still cracking through it.
The network team have been working on the new CLI Watch feature, which will allow contributors to see the realtime status of the network services.
The performance of the CDN format fallback parameter has been improved. The parameter allows users to provide a fallback for partially supported filetypes such as webp.
Memory caching for error coded responses has also been introduced, which prevents Gateway’s queue filling up when CDN onHosts is unable to resolve requests.
We’ve also been focused on the performance of the Gateway <> Host subscription system, which now better handles error responses from Hosts in order to remove the possibility of a disruption in Host level connectivity.
Subscription payment views in Console have been being iterated as we move through testing ahead launch.
And the Edge site and Explorer were moved into the latest build of our Continuous Deployment platform. This led to an outage with the explorer which has since been resolved.
We moved closer to the first distribution fo $TNC, which has been delayed a little as the team work to keep the various projects as in-sync as possible. We expect the first distribution in the coming week. And first listing remains on track for the end of the month.
Finally we moved forward our thinking and plans for the management of ageing/underperforming hardware through the PoW payment calculator. There’s a bunch of complexity here which we’ll expose in detail once we’ve buttoned down the details.
Oh, and it’s Arthur Mingard’s birthday today! Happy Birthday old chap.
Happy Easter 😀
