A fairly short update this week as we’re heads down and mid flow on a number of fronts. Sorry it’s late! Still burning the midnight oil 🕯️
This week the team deployed a bunch of infrastructure updates to improve the resilience of our backup strategy. Granular backups now occur nightly in addition to whole disk backups, which provides an additional layer of protection.
The team has also been working on adding real-time server metrics to the Account portal for Edge Servers, and we expect to be releasing that feature next week. There are a few final wrinkles to iron out in the interface but we’re excited to be delivering this improvement.
Additionally, Account v1.15.1 was deployed this week fixing an issue with case sensitive values in the Edge DNS interface. We noticed this issue when storing base64 in TXT records but while case sensitivity is supported by Edge DNS itself, we were receiving lowercase values. The fix was quickly applied and released to mainnet.
Pod has again been busy driving forward his GUI for Edge Host, so if you haven’t already, find him working away in the #coding-lounge and feel free to join in. There’s plenty to contribute!

April’s revenue burn 🔥 is coming up as well. c.90k XE will be burned on Tuesday.
Additional capacity was added for Edge Servers this week and we have a bunch more coming online soon as we expand the London zone. We’re also continuing to work on adding in a new region so keep your eyes peeled for an announcement on that front.
We have a bank holiday here in the UK on Monday so a slightly shorter week next week.
