Hi all 👋
I’ve been travelling for meetings this week so this update will be short and sweet.
The network team have been working on automated Stake management which includes a stake watching service for the wallet, changes to CLI to display and manage stakes, and various changes in the Edge API.
This is due for release in the next week 💥
We’ve made some changes to Stargate to explicitly determine registration status based on the new Stake method.
And Stargate is now using Etag headers to minimise the traffic from API, which now returns a 304 header if nothing has changed.
Some changes on the 19th Feb to LetsEncrypts API caused some issues with Auto SSL. The improvements in security meant that LetsEncrypts Certificate Authority runs SSL challenges against a domain from multiple vantage points, which can often mean that the Gateway that made the initial request is not the one to resolve it. This was leading to some SSL generation failures.
To combat this we moved to the http-01 approach, and Gateways now create a reverse proxy to a pre-selected ‘Primary Gateway’ which is responsible for handling all SSL challenges.
For the next release of Console we have introduced Email verification notices, updated some UI components, added some autofocus on form elements, and updated password strength requirements.
The team are currently working on the ability to edit Content Distribution deployments.
Finally the team have been progressing CDN, with a series of enhancements such as flip, filter and blur support, all due to drop in the coming couple of weeks.
And that’s it for this week. Enjoy your weekends 😀
