FAQs
How do I swap my $EDGE tokens for $TNC?
Follow the process set out on our site: https://edge.network/en/swap/
How do I set up Aladdin Pro?
You can follow our guide here: https://edge.network/en/swap/how-to-install-configure-aladdin-pro-wallet/
What happens to $EDGE listing status after the merger and token swap?
The current $EDGE token will be delisted. It will not be tradable on exchanges and you will not be able to use it in the Edge Network.
Can I withdraw my $EDGE tokens after the swap?
No. Your tokens will be locked - but visible - in your Aladdin Pro wallet.
I found more $EDGE, can I swap again?
Yes, this is possible, but there is a limit of one swap per wallet, so additional swap requests will require new wallets. You can sign up multiple times in the app on the same device, but you will need to use a different email address.
What happens to staked $EDGE tokens?
They will be automatically swapped for $TNC. Staking continues unchanged, with new stakes made in $TNC from the point that $TNC is first available on exchanges.
What happens to payouts for network nodes?
Payouts for March will be rolled over into April with payouts for March and April made in $TNC. Payouts can be made to any ERC-20 wallet, as configured in your Edge Console.
What happens if I want to deregister my node and withdraw my stake?
Your $TNC stake will be returned to a verified Aladdin Pro wallet and will be subject to the remaining vesting period at the point of withdrawal.
Can I stake a new node with $EDGE?
Staking for new nodes will be paused temporarily as we cut across to $TNC. The core team will ensure capacity for existing customers during this period.
Why do we have to use a new wallet to swap tokens – why not simply send to a smart contract and receive TNC tokens immediately rather than registering with Aladdin Pro Wallet?
Aladdin Pro is a highly secure wallet, with nine layers of security built into the platform. Using it for the swap process helps to ensure the security of our holders and of the process itself. Aladdin Pro is also part of the TNC ecosystem. Using it strengthens the whole group.
How long will the swap process be open?
For one year.
How does the token merger affect Edge as a brand and its customer base?
Partnering with the TNC Group and merging with the TNC Group Coin enables us to address the tokenomics of the platform by ensuring liquidity, which is critical to the growth of the network. The token merger doesn’t change the Edge brand and has no operational impact on either the business or the network itself.
What does this merger mean for Edge’s roadmap that was shared earlier this year?
We expect to be able to deliver against our roadmap faster than would have otherwise been possible and to enhance it with new functionality and services. This partnership also enables us to push forward the development of the DAG in the network, which will ultimately be used for a new Edge token.
Does this merger mean that the team has sold EDGE to the TNC group and now works for them?
No. Edge Network Technologies Limited remains a fully independent company. The technology and IP is not part of the agreement.
How can I do my token swap if I don’t want to use the Aladdin Pro Wallet?
You can’t. The swap is only taking place through Aladdin Pro.
This merger seems like an exit scam and a way for the team to sell off all the EDGE tokens. How can you reassure us it is not?
Our existing vesting period still stands. And there will be a vesting period for swapped tokens. And of course, we continue to be hard at work on the network, as evidenced by our regular updates and ongoing enhancements to the platform.
Based on the small percentage of tokens that the EDGE team has in the TNC ecosystem, how much control does the TNC team have on the direction of the EDGE team?
None. The development of Edge and our underlying technology remains completely under the control of the Edge team.
I recently completed the process of the token swap. How soon will I get my TNC tokens?
Swapped tokens will typically appear in your wallet within 12-24 hours.
What is the rationale behind implementing a vesting period on the $TNC tokens received when my $EDGE tokens are fully unlocked?
The swap provides a 1:11 ratio of $EDGE for $TNC, which significantly enhances individual holdings over the previous market position of $EDGE. The vesting period exists to help to protect all of the users of the new group token from significant market fluctuation as a result of dumping.
If the network staking reward is in $TNC since other projects are swapping to $TNC, what's the plan to make sure other projects are also contributing equally to the growth of TNC?
TNC have spent over a year assessing the market and vetting individual projects and teams. Their process of selection is robust, with standout projects selected to become part of the group. All of the individual projects will be contributing to the future direction of TNC.
With regard to staking in the Edge Network, payouts are calculated based on the USD value of services in the network, meaning that as the value of $TNC fluctuates relative to USD, payouts are recalculated. What efforts are being put in place to protect the investors as re-branding from DADI to Edge hasn’t helped that much, what’s going to change this time?
Edge as a company and as a network isn’t going anywhere, so in that sense this isn’t a rebrand. The $EDGE token merging with the TNC Group Token addresses the tokenonmics of the platform by ensuring liquidity, which is critical to the growth of the network.
With regard to wider efforts in support of the TNC Group Token, TNC are managing the token directly, which includes a commitment to market making, liquidity and availability on a wide array of exchanges. They have a proven track record in designing and managing tokenomics that will help us both in the short term and in the long term with the development and release of the eDAG.
In addition, the existing vesting period of the core team still stands, and there will be a vesting period for swapped tokens.
Who are those behind TNC, and what do we know about them asides from what is online which isn’t a lot?
The Edge team have spent time with TNC, including visiting them at their headquarters in Dubai. TNC was founded by Ethan Lee, G.W Lee and Jason Jang, who all have deep experience in the blockspace space.
