Hello everyone 👋

Loads to update you on this evening – it’s been a busy week!

The number of nodes online on the network has pushed up past 190… we’re nearing 200! Another 3,500 XE has been paid out to Hosts this week, and the distributing wallet has been refilled with XE for Q2. The iOS Mobile Wallet is now available on the App Store 💥

We want to thank everyone who helped with testing over the last few months, especially those who took the time to share detailed feedback, suggestions, and bug reports. Get the app now by going to https://ed.ge/app or scan the QR code below.

Just as a reminder, the testnet blockchain & network are publicly available to use for those of you who want to try them out. You can create a testnet wallet using the mobile app beta or via https://wallet.test.network/, and you can explore both the blockchain and network nodes at https://test.network/. There you’ll also find the Automated Faucet which you can use to acquire some testnet XE (2500 per day). Alternatively, if you don’t have a Twitter account, ask a member of the team to send you some testnet XE.

The NFT partner that we’ve been working with is called Mudas Capital.

Mudas Capital is a new form of venture capital (VC) that’s created utilising the full potential of Web 3.0 technologies & systems. Mudas supports the adoption of Web 3.0 by investing in projects that:

  • Disrupt and in some cases replace legacy industries
  • Encourage mass consumer adoption of Web 3.0 principles and practices
  • Democratize early-investment opportunities in emerging tech
  • Demonstrate regenerative economic principles

Mudas Capital is a DAO (Decentralised Autonomous Organisation), set up with the objective of merging venture investing with storytelling and narrative — an approach the DAO founders loosely label Adventure Capital.

Unlike the vast majority of Web 2.0 corporations — for whom concepts of preservation, regeneration, and global wellness are far from a major concern — alongside Mudas Capital’s radically inclusive economic model, they have launched Fundação Mudas. This sits at the core of the project: a Brazilian non-profit that is supporting the long-term conservation and restoration of the country’s rainforests and other biomes. 10% of the projects revenue is being allocated to this endeavour with investments in land and forest management as well as collaborations with partner organisations offering the highest expertise in permanent forest-based carbon capture. Fundação Mudas isn’t just committed to planting trees, but in playing a meaningful role as true protectors of the forest in harmony with surrounding communities.

Here’s a sample of the artwork at the heart of the project:

Mudas (Portuguese for seedling) are mysterious forest-dwelling creatures who inhabit a mystical world called the Mataverse (mata is Portuguese for forest). Their story plays out on https://mudas.com/, which will evolve over time into a metaverse environment. The Mudas website will comprise many different games, stories and apps that will empower anybody who wants to participate in the broader Mudas Capital ecosystem.

Mudas is being built by a large team of extremely talented people from all over the world.

It’s being put together on the Edge Network, which is providing hosting, DNS, CDN and the XE Blockchain.

You can read more about the project on: https://mudas.capital/

Oh! And if you participate in their genesis and hold $EDGE in the same wallet, you’ll receive a 10% bonus. If you missed last weeks update, scroll up ☝️ …or you can read it on site now:

And finally, look out for an exciting new project with bags of utility launching as part of the Edge ecosystem in the coming couple of weeks 👀

And that’s all for this week. Enjoy your weekends 🍻
